DISCLOSURE · UPDATED OCTOBER 2026

How this site makes money, and why it doesn’t buy a verdict.

TurbulenceGains is an independent site run by me, Jay Kumar Bhatiya. Some links earn a commission and some products arrive free. Here is every way money or gear reaches me, and the rules I follow so it never changes what I write.

The three rules

Disclosed up front.

Every post that contains an affiliate link or covers a supplied product says so near the top, before the first link.

No paid verdicts.

No brand sees a review before it goes live or pays for a rating. I check facts, specs and prices with them, nothing more.

My ratings only.

Every rating is mine, from my own testing. When later use changes my mind, I add a dated update to the post.

Where the money comes from

Every revenue source on the site, listed plainly.

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This applies to Amazon links on the US and India stores.

Other affiliate programmes

Some brand links (for example Cronometer through Awin, and brand referral links) pay a commission if you buy. It costs you nothing extra. Affiliate links are marked sponsored in the page code.

Supplied products

Brands sometimes send a review unit. Supernote supplies devices as a media partner, and Ultrahuman, TRMNL and PlaneTags have sent products. The post always says who supplied what, and I never describe a free product as one I bought.

Ads and tips

This site runs no ads and never will. It has a Buy Me a Coffee membership link for readers who want to support it, and it has no connection to any rating.

Paid partnerships

API builds and reviews arranged through Partnerships follow the same rules and are labelled in the post.

How I test

Products go into my real flying, studying and development work for at least 30 days before I publish. Each review states how long and how I used it. Data posts are N=1 and say so.

Not advice

Nothing here is medical, nutritional, financial or flight-training advice. Talk to your instructor, aviation medical examiner or doctor before acting on anything you read.

Spot something off?

If a post is missing a disclosure or gets a fact wrong, email contact@turbulencegains.com and I’ll fix it and note the change.
