Precision Tools. Real Workflows.
Turbulence Gains is a digital publication exploring the intersection of Aviation, Development, and Industrial Design.
We curate a specific aesthetic: technology that works as well in a cockpit as it does at a developer’s desk. We speak to a niche audience of pilots, engineers, and builders who care about utility, craft, and focus.

Who Reads This?
Our readership is defined by profession, not just interest.
- Commercial Pilots & Cadets: Looking for EFBs, noise cancellation, and travel gear.
- Software Engineers: Looking for deep-work tools, mechanical inputs, and programmable hardware.
- Design Purists: People who value “Buy It For Life” quality over disposable trends.
Presents your review process as a rigorous, non-negotiable protocol.
Our Protocol
Every product submitted for review is subject to the same, unbending protocol.
Integration.
Products are integrated into active workflows for a minimum of one full operational cycle (30 days). No exceptions. We test in context, under load.
The Standard.
We document three things: Function, Form, and Friction. We are obsessed with how a tool performs, how it feels, and where it fails.
The Logbook.
The result is a permanent, public record of a tool’s performance. Detailed, objective, and final. Our trust with our audience is our only asset.
Available Engagements
We offer three models of collaboration for products that meet our standard.
Type 1: The Product Analysis
A complete, long-form analysis of a single piece of hardware. We document its design, utility, and place in the market.
Type 2: The Ecosystem Feature
Strategic placement within our documented hardware stack. We demonstrate how your product integrates with other best-in-class tools from brands like Garmin, Supernote, and TRMNL. Context is everything.
Type 3: The API Proof-of-Concept
A functional, open-source project. We write and publish code that demonstrates your product’s API in a real-world aviation or development scenario, validating its utility for a technical audience.
Send a Signal
We work with a small number of partners each quarter.
If your product is built with intent, serves a specific function, and can withstand rigorous testing, we are open to a conversation.
